Corporate Trainer - Nursing

DIVISION:       MEDICAL

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Nursing Trainer is responsible for the development, coordination, presentation and evaluation of Medical Assistant (MA) training and development programs in order to assure Terry Reilly has a qualified and competent MA team. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing and/or his designee, Nursing Leadership and current licensed independent practitioners, the Nursing Trainer assesses functional team training needs, clinical and administrative, for all new and existing team members and develops solutions by engaging in-house and outside content experts, or delivering training directly.

The Nursing Trainer demonstrates the ability to multitask, with strong verbal and written communication skills and effective stress management. The Nursing Trainer demonstrates a "can-do" spirit, a sense of optimism, ownership, and commitment. This position requires working collaboratively with medical, dental, behavioral health and administrative team members. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, and/or his designee, the Nursing Trainer:

 

  1. Is responsible for the development, coordination, presentation and evaluation of trainings implemented consistent with the Nursing Team Training and Development plan.
  2. Coordinates with Corporate Trainer on developing and delivering mandatory team trainings on Compliance related topics identified in the Corporate Training and Development Policy.
  3. Coordinates logistics of trainings in conjunction with the Corporate Trainer including curriculum development, educational materials, facility scheduling and setup, subject matter expert selection, team member scheduling, training evaluation, audits and protocols .
  4. Provides back up support and input for the administration of an effective team member training.
  5. Develops and delivers a new team member on-boarding and development training program to support the success of both new and experienced team members across the organization.
  6. Supports Nursing Leadership in the development of work group specific training needs and/or competency training modules.
  7. Documents team member participation in team or work group trainings and coordinates with Human Resources for CE documentation.
  8. Responsible for managing Nursing Team opinion survey and work plan specific to Nursing Team development plan; provides suggestions to guide training, development and or initiatives needed to develop the nursing team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited Medial Assisting program and is currently certified/registered.
  • 3-5 years of medical assisting experience, with 1 year of experience in Lead MA or Medical Assistant Supervisor role.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with public and other staff persons. Strong customer relations and communication skills with a proven record of customer service excellence. Articulate telephone voice, legible penmanship, reasonable spelling skills and proficient computer skills.
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities and tasks. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
  • Ability to handle stress related to demanding or difficult team members, competing priorities, and changing processes.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity
  • Proven computer and database management skills.
  • Current Idaho driver's license and dependable transportation available during scheduled hours
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds.
