Facilities Maintenance Team Member

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES       

Responsible for general maintenance and repair, keeping Terry Reilly Health Services (TR) facilities and grounds in top working order and appearance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Review emails at the start of each work day to retrieve work orders and respond to facility requests from supervisors and others.
  • Maintains buildings by performing minor and routine maintenance activities, including basic carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, painting, assembly, roofing and general building maintenance skills.
  • Performs ground maintenance duties, such as mowing, raking, weeding, spraying for weeds, edging, pruning, trimming, watering, fertilizing, clearing snow and debris from walkways and parking lots, planting, irrigating and related duties associated with maintenance of attractive grounds.
  • Monitors and assesses needs for facilities and grounds repairs, improvements, clean up and replacements. Notifies supervisor of need for major repairs or improvements.
  • On a regularly scheduled basis, in accordance with the TR Safety Plan, inspects smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, emergency lighting, and review and signature of fire extinguishers at all facilities. Assures they are kept in continuous working order. Generally scans facilities and grounds for safety hazards and attends to removal of the hazards. Keeps a record of activities.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance and secure storage of TR-owned tools and equipment.
  • Changes heating/cooling filters and keeps debris off of TR facility roof tops.
  • In collaboration with the supervisor, obtains contracts for services or through direct hire of personnel for maintenance and custodial activities of the corporation.
  • Moves office furniture, as needed.   Moves record storage boxes into and out of storage as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • General understanding of building construction, electrical systems, roofing, security systems, grounds maintenance and methods for maintaining facilities and grounds in excellent condition.
  • Possesses an extensive amount and variety of repair and maintenance skills and experience (at least 5 years).
  • Able to climb onto roofs and to assist with furniture moving.
  • Access to a vehicle for transporting miscellaneous supplies and removal of grounds debris to and from TR facilities.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds and physically able to do a significant amount of stooping, bending, and shoveling.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Must have reliable vehicle with current registration and license.
  • Excellent driving record.
