Medical Assistant Lead - Boise 23rd

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES     

The Lead Medical Assistant works in a Patient Centered Medical Home team environment, promoting and contributing to a positive patient care experience through the delivery of high quality and compassionate care. The Lead Medical Assistant takes a leadership role in the care team, acting as a trainer, resource and mentor for other Medical Assistants and team members. The Lead Medical Assistant supports and coordinates efficient clinic work flow and communicates accurately, positively and professionally with all team members and patients. The Lead Medical Assistant is required to perform all duties of the Medical Assistant and functions as the resource person to the non-licensed staff. The Lead Medical Assistant acts as a liaison between management and team members. The Lead Medical Assistant will work together with the Medical Assistant Supervisor and the RN Supervisor to assume responsibility for the management and provision of patient age appropriate competencies and evaluation of medical assistants in their care team. The Lead MA works under the direct supervision of the Medical Assistant Supervisor in collaboration with nursing leadership and other licensed care team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited Medial Assisting program and is currently certified/registered.
• 2-3 years of medical assisting experience at Terry Reilly
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with public and other staff persons. Strong customer relations and communication skills with a proven record of customer service excellence. Articulate telephone voice, legible penmanship, reasonable spelling skills and proficient computer skills.
• Able to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities and tasks. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
• Ability to handle stress related to demanding or difficult patients/team members, competing priorities, and changing processes.
• Current Idaho driver's license and dependable transportation available during scheduled hours

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 or more years medical assisting experience at Terry Reilly
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
