Pharmacy Technician III / Compliance Auditor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Pharmacy Technician III works in collaboration with Pharmacy Director to provide leadership and support for the Pharmacy team. Works under the supervision of a pharmacist to deliver quality patient care and excellent customer service. The Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for assisting technicians and pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions and helping patients in person or on the phone. The Pharmacy Technician III has added responsibilities to assist with various pharmacy workflows and compliance issues.

Pharmacy Compliance and Auditing:

  • Knowledge of specific state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice.
  • Complete knowledge of proper third-party billing requirements.
  • Conducts prescription audits addressing accurate third-party billing and compliance to specific state and federal regulations governing pharmacy.
  • Develops and/or improves risk mitigation and internal 340B internal audit systems and processes to limit program liabilities, identifies risk and prevents duplicate discounts and diversion.
  • Develops, executes, and documents monthly self-audits of the 340B processes for the in-house pharmacies.
  • Monitors and audits state Medicaid claims monthly to ensure compliance and prevent potential duplicate discount rebates.
  • Responsible for managing and troubleshooting pharmacy billing issues with in-house pharmacies ensuring adequate systems checks are reviewed to prevent or remediate billing issues.
  • Routinely reviews data and related reports from all points of service at which 340B participation occurs to ensure that policies and procedures are followed, entity eligibility requirements are met, and all patients meet patient definition requirements.
  • Coaches and educates on compliant pharmacy operating procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • State of Idaho Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure.
  • Two years of applicable experience.
  • Proficient Computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including delivery of information in both written and verbal form.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of prescription drug programs.
  • Electronic medical record experience.
  • 340B pharmacy knowledge.
  • Technician Immunizer.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish).
